Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HumanQuill ("HumanQuill", "we", "us", or "our"), including our website at humanquill.com and all related services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

HumanQuill is a professional writing enhancement service. We connect customers with vetted human writers who rewrite, refine, and improve submitted draft text to produce natural, polished, human-crafted content. Our service is intended for lawful purposes including, but not limited to:

  • Improving clarity and readability of business communications
  • Enhancing blog posts, articles, and marketing copy
  • Refining professional reports and documentation
  • Personal writing improvement and style development
  • Content production for websites, social media, and publications

3. Acceptable Use Policy

By using HumanQuill, you represent and warrant that your use of our services complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies. You agree to use HumanQuill solely for lawful purposes.

Prohibited uses โ€” you may NOT use HumanQuill to:

  • Submit work for academic courses, exams, or assessments in violation of your institution's academic integrity or honour code policies
  • Engage in plagiarism, academic fraud, or any form of academic dishonesty
  • Represent AI-generated or third-party written content as your own original work in contexts where that is prohibited
  • Create content intended to deceive, defraud, or harm any individual or organisation
  • Produce content that violates any applicable law, including copyright, defamation, or consumer protection laws
  • Generate hate speech, harassment, illegal content, or content that infringes third-party rights

HumanQuill does not condone academic dishonesty in any form. By submitting an order, you certify that your intended use of the delivered content complies with all applicable rules, policies, and laws that apply to you. HumanQuill bears no responsibility for how customers choose to use delivered content.

4. Account Registration

You must create an account to submit orders. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use HumanQuill.

5. Orders, Payment & Pricing

All prices are listed in USD. Orders are priced based on word count at the time of submission. By placing an order, you authorise payment for the listed price. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

Orders are confirmed only after successful payment processing. We reserve the right to cancel orders and issue refunds at our discretion, including if we determine an order violates these Terms.

6. Refunds & Revisions

Our refund and revision policy is described in detail at humanquill.com/refund. In summary:

  • Full refund available if your order has not yet been assigned to a writer
  • Partial refund or free revision if work is in progress and you cancel
  • Free revisions are included with every plan (number varies by tier)
  • Full refund if delivered content fails to meet our stated quality standards after revision

Refunds are not available where the order was completed as specified and you have changed your requirements after delivery.

7. Intellectual Property

Upon full payment and delivery, you own the copyright to the content delivered for your order. HumanQuill retains no claim to ownership of delivered content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to use submitted content solely to complete your order.

You warrant that you have the right to submit any content provided to us and that doing so does not infringe any third-party rights.

8. Confidentiality

We treat all content submitted to HumanQuill as confidential. Writers are bound by confidentiality obligations. We do not sell, share, or publish your submitted or delivered content. Your content is not used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

9. Turnaround Times

We aim to deliver orders within the timeframe listed for your selected tier. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by order volume, complexity, or writer availability. Failure to meet an estimated delivery window does not entitle you to a refund unless expressly agreed in writing.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HumanQuill shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of our services, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of HumanQuill shall not exceed the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim.

HumanQuill is not responsible for any consequences arising from your use of delivered content, including but not limited to academic, professional, or legal consequences.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or uninterrupted availability, except as explicitly stated in these Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms or are using our services in a manner harmful to others or to HumanQuill. Upon termination, any outstanding orders may be cancelled with a pro-rated refund.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice on our website. Continued use of HumanQuill after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules, except either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
